Situated out in Ras Kigomasha Manta Reef Lodge is one of the oldest lodges on Pemba It is pretty much out on the beaten track with a drive that takes you from the airport past Ngezi Forest and another 20 to 30 minutes on a dirt road before you arrive at the lodge The drive is well worth it because like most of Pemba the location is deserted and outstanding The lodge is situated on a small cliff face overlooking the amazing stretch of beach The views are breathtaking Timber cabins add to the rustic feel of the whole place with simple plain decor and huge rooms make it a very comfortable place to stay in This is one of the premier dive lodges with access to diving on both sides of the island Land diving and live-aboard diving are provided on some of the best reefs in East Africa Pemba is renowned for it s diving and deep sea fishing of which both are provided
The Rooms The rooms are timber cabins built on stilts As mentioned they are huge and very comfortable There are 11 chalets in total all with sea views hot water and en suite facilities Room service is available on request The front portions of the rooms are all open allowing a cool breeze to flow through on those hot days and is very soothing on those hot nights All beds have mosquito nets All rooms are the same so there are no preferred rooms with special or additional rates
