Furnished in the style of a bygone era this intimate twenty-bed lodge guarantees comfort and personal service for a memorable stay Victorian bathtubs sisal carpeting hand-dyed fabrics and local basketry complete the elegant colonial style of the camp s accommodation Dark tones of wood and thatch offset the natural colours of the bushveld

All suites have expansive glass windows looking out to the camp grounds air-conditiioning indoor out door showers and private verandah

Dining

Head Chef Himler Dorfling who has been at Kings Camp since 2002 is on hand to create a variety of wholesome and satisfying dishes which gives each and every guest a taste into the finest in African ingredients and decadent flavours Himler s attention to detail and fine finishes complete the experience and are a highlight of your luxury safari experience at Kings Camp

Our traditional boma is a truly memorable way to experience an evening under the African night sky Fine cuisine and wines can be sampled while sitting near a warm crackling fire On arrival at the boma you will be met by your ranger who will be on hand to greet you with a drink of your choice while guests meet around the fire to tell of exciting adventures had on the game drive that afternoon

End off the evening with a sumptuous dessert and nightcap before bidding farewell to the simmering fire for the calling of your suite

Breakfast and lunch are served in the dining room

A perfect end to the perfect safari experience a private dinner on the verandah of your suite is offered to couples wanting to spend time together in privacy

Any specialised dietary requests will be catered for - prior notice required

Activities Facilities

Morning and afternoon game drives with knowledgeable rangers in open vehicles are offered daily You will be served tea coffee and biscuits on your morning game drive and drinks and canap s on your afternoon game drive Your afternoon game drive gets back after dark which gives you the opportunity to spot our nocturnal animals with a spotlight

For a luxurious and indulgent experience in the bush Kings Camp offers the Therapy Lapa where various treatments guarantees a rejuvenating and exhilarating experience Treatments include reflexology aromatherapy Indian head massage full body massage and Swedish back massage

A library full of verse and History awaits those yearning for knowledge of the African continent filled with a collection of fictional and non-fictional books It offers a setting of peace and tranquility where you are welcome to browse through various books and novels For those wanting to keep in touch with family members back home there is a desktop with wireless internet connection available in the library 24 hours A television is also available for those wanting to keep up to date with the latest news or sports game

During the day guests are welcome to browse through our well-stocked and air-conditioned curio shop where you can select gifts and African memorabilia for your friends and family back home The shop is stocked with an assortment of beautiful safari gear as well as local arts and crafts

For guests wishing to keep active our fully air-conditioned spacious gym is equipped with free weights bench press treadmill spinning and training bike high flyer gym ball gym mats and weight machines Fresh towels and bottled water are provided

Walking Safaris

Walks through the bush take place just after breakfast on request and is the best way of experiencing the finer aspects of the bushveld Your knowledgeable ranger will guide you through the fauna and flora of the Timbavati Nature Reserve pointing out insects grasses trees and the smaller species that are all an integral part of the Timbavati Nature Reserve

Experience the beauty of the Blyde River Canyon in the luxury of a helicopter Mountain Magic Helicopter Safaris will pick you up at Kings Camp and fly you through the Blyde River Canyon and along the escarpment passing the Three Rondawels Gods Window and stopping at the pinnacle for a champagne picnic

From there you will be whisked off to view all the spectacular waterfalls in the area before returning to the camp

Conference Facilities

Kings Camp offers conference facilities for a maximum of 20 delegates in comfort as you will take over the entire establishment Specific equipment arreangements apart from the usual will need to be requested in advance - but this does not present an obstacle to your seminar conference or accommodation in the Timbavati Game Reserve

Other facilities and activities include swimming pool game viewing platform laundry service open vehicle and walking safaris bush breakfasts dinners and sleepovers beneath the night sky await you
